'The Secrets' Are Out In Book

Amber Kruth

There shouldn’t be any hidden agenda to expect success. If you want people to live up to your expectations, those requirements should be visible and defined.
Professors Lynn Jacobs and Jeremy Hyman created the guide all students pursuing an academic career should check out; “The Secrets of College Success” won the USA Book News Best Books 2010 Award for the category college guides.
The book is available for purchase at The University of Arkansas Bookstore on Garland Avenue.

JAVA AND BOOKS

A little treasure has expanded from a Kitchen to a Kafe. The original location of Brick House Kitchen, 1079 School Ave., is open for dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
Now, inheriting the quaint nook that spawned Hammontree’s Restaurant, the culinary duo David Lewis and Lisa Jetter are beginning a morning café with coffee and pastries. The team anticipates expanding the menu during the next few months.
The Kafe, attached to Nightbird Book Store on Dickson Street in Fayetteville, is open 6:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Lisa Sharp, owner of Nightbird, announced the book store would also now open at 6:30 a.m. Sounds like a great way to start a day!

KIDNAPPING SUSPECT

The University of Arkansas is searching for a suspect who tried
to kidnap a student on Sunday, Nov. 14 between 1 and 2 a.m. The University Police news release said the student was on the east side of Kimpel Hall and managed to escape the pursuer. Anyone with information should contact the University Police.
If you are a UA Student and don’t have this number programmed into your cell phone already, it is 575-7233.
Other area non-emergency police numbers are 587-3555 (Fayetteville), 521-2800 (Springdale), 621-1172 (Rogers) and 271-3170 (Bentonville).

NICE PLAY, D.J.

Another reason we love D.J. Williams, most known for his performance on the field as a tight
end for the Razorbacks football team, is what he is like off the field. He is the recent recipient of the Disney Spirit Award, a recognition of the most inspirational college football player.
An incredible story of how he, his mothers and sisters broke free from an abusive household and how he is now deeply involved with giving back to youth in the community, is highlighted on the University website “Newswire”: newswire.uark.edu/article.aspx?id=15053.

Williams will fly to the Home Depot College Football awards show at Walt Disney World on Dec. 9. The ceremony is scheduled to air at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
