Shatner’s World Sure To Surprise, Delight Fans

ShatnerWilliam Shatner is almost a world within himself. He doesn’t fit with any traditional, or even many eccentric molds, surprising even his most fervent fans with what projects he comes out with next.

To those fans of Shatner and his past work, it seems like quite the honor that the legendary sci-fi TV and movie star would visit Northwest Arkansas for a one-night performance highlighting his eccentricities and who knows what, going off history.

His one-man show, ‘Shatner’s World: We Just Live In It’ is appropriately named, as, beyond many of his peers, Shatner has become world-renowned, loved and respected as a performer, despite a career with many highs and lows. With this special performance, fans and the curious will get an inside, theatrical look at Shatner’s journey from being just one of us, to the superstar he is today.

The 90-minute show will take audiences on a sequential journey through Shatner’s career and life, following his emergence from a classically trained Shakespearean stage actor in his native Canada to an internationally known icon and storyteller. Comprised of live theater, archival photographs, video clips, signature storytelling and select musical selections in his inimitable style, Shatner’s World reflects upon the highs and lows of a celebrated life in the public eye.

Known as much for his distinctive persona as for his greatly varying body of work in television and film, Shatner has cultivated a six decade-spanning career as an actor, director, producer, writer, recording artist, philanthropist and horseman. In 1966, he originated the iconic role of Captain James Tiberius Kirk in the TV series Star Trek, also starring in seven of the movies in the subsequent film franchise. He played the title role in the successful police drama T.J. Hooker before hosting TV’s first reality-based series, Rescue 911. He also received Primetime Emmys and a Golden Globe for his portrayal of eccentric lawyer Denny Crane on The Practice and Boston Legal. Off the screen, Shatner has authored nearly 30 best-selling books and released a progressive rock album in October entitled “Ponder the Mystery.”
