The long-awaited Razorback Greenway, a bike/pedestrian trail connecting Fayetteville to Bella Vista and the cities in between will be dedicated Saturday.

A day-long cycle of events has been scheduled.

• 7a.m.: GO36 Connect End to End for MS Bike Ride, Bella Vista Lake. Join in the first official end to end Razorback Regional Greenway way! Ride the whole 36 miles and get a commemorative t-shirt.

• 9 a.m.: Bentonville kick-off – Downtown Activity Center (215 S.W. A St.)

• 9 a.m.: Lake Atalanta Ride in Rogers, Clark Pavilion; Ozark Off-Road Cyclists will lead this beginner friendly mountain bike ride around Lake Atalanta. They will then ride up to the Rogers Depot and ride the train to festivities in downtown Springdale.

• 9:30 a.m.: Rogers kick-off – Mercy Trailhead

• 9:45 a.m.: Fayetteville kick-off, Dickson Street Crossing

• 11 a.m.: Springdale Meet up and ride, Jones Center; Family friendly and easy ride on a new trail connecting the Jones Center and downtown Springdale

• 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: B Cycle Bike Demo, Downtown Springdale

• Noon: Ribbon cutting and speeches, Shiloh Square Springdale.

• 1 p.m.: Waterways Bike Ride, Downtown Springdale

• 1 p.m. Illinois River Watershed Partnership

• 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Bike Rodeo, Downtown Springdale. Bicycle Coalition of the Ozarks, Springdale Police Department

• 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: Working Class Grass Concert, Shiloh Museum Springdale. Concert by Working Class Grass at the log cabin on the Shiloh Museum grounds. Young people from the Washington County Historical Society’s Heritage School will be on hand to greet visitors and tell them of life in 1860s Arkansas.

• 2 p.m.: History Walk, Slaughter Pen Mountain Bike Trail, Bentonville. Join Benton County Historical Society members Leah Whitehead, Fred Coffee and Mike Carney on a history walk exploring the Slaughter Pen Trail area on the Razorback Regional Greenway, including the origins of the name “Slaughter Pen,” railroad history, natural history, and the development of the popular Slaughter Pen Mountain Bike Trail. The walk will begin at the A Street parking lot, 906 N.E. A St., and is approximately one mile round trip.

• 2 p.m.: History Walk, Lake Bella Vista. Join members of the Bella Vista Museum on a history walk along the Lake Bella Vista Trail on the Razorback Regional Greenway. The walk will begin at the east parking lot for Lake Bella Vista, near the Veterans Wall of Honor on Cold Cave Road.

• 2 p.m.: History Walk, Osage Springs in Rogers. Join Rogers Historical Museum adult program educator Monte Harris on a history walk exploring the Osage Springs area in west Rogers, including Native American, pioneer and Civil War history, as well as more recent additions to the historic landscape such as the fish hatchery and the Rife Barn. The walk will begin at the parking lot adjacent to Osage Springs on the east corner of New Hope Road and 46th Street near Steak ’n Shake (1715 S. 46th St.) and proceed south. The walk is about 1 mile round trip.

• 2 p.m.: History Walk – Goad Springs Cemetery in Lowell. Join Lowell Historical Museum director Liz Estes on a history walk exploring Lowell history. The walk will begin at Goad Springs Cemetery on South Goad Springs Street adjacent to the Razorback Regional Greenway and proceed northeast. Parking is available at the cemetery. The walk is about one mile round trip.

• 2 p.m.: History Walk, Spring Creek Boardwalk in Springdale. Join Shiloh Museum outreach coordinator Susan Young on a history walk exploring Springdale historic sites associated with the Trail of Tears, the Civil War, pioneer churches and early businesses. The walk will begin at the Spring Creek boardwalk adjacent to the Shiloh Museum (118 W. Johnson Ave.) and proceed north. The walk will be about one mile round trip.

• 2 p.m.: History Walk (Spanish) – Spring Creek Boardwalk Springdale. Join Shiloh Museum outreach coordinator Susan Young on a history walk exploring Springdale historic sites associated with the Trail of Tears, the Civil War, pioneer churches and early businesses. The walk will begin at the Spring Creek boardwalk adjacent to the Shiloh Museum (118 W. Johnson Ave.) and proceed north. The walk will be about 1 mile round trip.

2 p.m.: History Walk – Fayetteville Depot. Join Fayetteville historian Charlie Alison on a history walk exploring Fayetteville geological, architectural, railroad, business and social history. The walk will begin at the Lafayette Street Bridge just north of Arsaga’s Depot coffeehouse (548 W. Dickson St.) on the trail. From the Lafayette Street Bridge, the walk will proceed south to Tsa La Gi Trail. The walk is two miles round trip.

3 p.m.: Horticulture Walk – Spring Creek Boardwalk Springdale. Join Washington County Master Gardeners Dolores and Truman Stamps on a nature walk exploring the grounds of the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History on the Razorback Regional Greenway. The walk will begin at the Spring Creek boardwalk adjacent to the museum (118 W. Johnson Ave.) and is less than one mile round trip.

3 p.m.: Horticulture Walk – Bella Vista Lake Veterans Wall of Honor

3p.m.: Horticulture Walk – Lake Fayetteville. Join Washington County Master Gardeners Chris Bell and Martha McBride on a nature walk along the Lake Fayetteville section of the Razorback Regional Greenway. The walk will begin at Lake Fayetteville softball complex parking lot and is about 1 mile round trip.

3 p.m.: Horticulture Walk, Northwest Arkansas Mall. Join Washington County Master Gardeners Mary and Bill McCully on a nature walk along the Clear Creek section of the Razorback Regional Greenway. The walk will begin at the Northwest Arkansas Mall near the intersection with Steele Boulevard (the far west end of the mall parking lot west of J.C. Penney). The walk will be about one mile round trip.

 

Train Ride, Rogers Depot

• 11 a.m. excursion to downtown Springdale, returning at around 2:30 p.m. Bikes will be allowed on the train. Rides are free.

 

Train Ride, Fayetteville Depot

9:45 a.m. to downtown Springdale, returning at 2 p.m. Rides are free and bikes are allowed.

 

Ozark Regional Transit at Mercy Medical Center Rogers

Ozark Regional Transit will be offering special dedicated service to the Springdale Train Depot from Mercy Medical Center in Rogers for the Razorback Regional Greenway Grand Opening.

Springdale Train Depot: 1:30 p.m. 2:30 p.m. 3:30 p.m. 4:30 p.m. 5:30 p.m.

Mercy Medical Center Rogers: 2 p.m. 3 p.m. 4 p.m. 5 p.m. 6 p.m.

 

Ozark Regional Transit – Bentonville Square

Ozark Regional Transit will be offering special dedicated service to the Springdale Train Depot from the Bentonville Square for the Razorback Regional Greenway Grand Opening.

Springdale Train Depot: 1:30 p.m. 3 p.m. 4:30 p.m. 6 p.m.

Bentonville Square: 2:15 p.m. 3:45 p.m. 5:15 p.m. 6:45 p.m.

 

Ozark Regional Transit, Walker Park.

Ozark Regional Transit will be offering special dedicated service to the Springdale Train Depot from Walker Park in Fayetteville for the Razorback Regional Greenway Grand Opening.
