Not Cool: Library Loses Air

A change in weather brought some relief but it also brought some bad news. A lightning strike took out the air conditioning at the Fayetteville library. That pretty much nixes its ability to act as a one of Washington County’s cooling stations at the moment — designated areas set to give relief from the heat to those in need. However, the other cool spots are still up and running.

From the city’s news release:

“The Fayetteville Public Library’s facility was hit by lightening during last night’s storm. The lightening strike damaged rooftop HVAC units, and repairs have been underway since early this morning.  At this time, there is no air conditioning in the building.

While open for business, the Library will not be able to serve as a cooling station today. Customers should be advised of uncomfortable temperatures throughout the building and plan their visits accordingly.

• Springdale’s John Powell Senior Center, 610 E Grove Ave, Springdale
• Springdale Youth Center, 600 Ash Street Springdale”
