Shindig Shop Reunion

It’s been awhile-about six years- since the popular band Shindig Shop has dished out their particular blend of rock and roll. The band is back and will get together for a reunion show Wednesday night at George’s.

Formed in Little Rock in 1990, the band began playing together at Paul Burnham’s farm where all-night jam sessions would turn into parties.

The original Shindig Shop featured Tim Sullivan, Mark Payne, Paul Burnham, Bill Phillips, Rick Erke and Paul Bowling. Soon guitarist Ross Hurley came onboard and began contributing original songs, adding to Burnham’s originals.

The band also did covers of tunes by the likes of Traffic, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa and Willie Dixon. Eventually they began to put out their trademark blend that combined the sounds of Delta Blues, psychedelic funk and mushroom soul. They even scored coveted slots at South By Southwest and the New Orleans Jazz Festival.

The newest Shindig Shop is made up of original members Hurley and Burnham, along with veteran players Rich Goodrum, Marc Turner and Sid Simon. Guaranteed to be a good time.
