Signs and Gifts, Angels & Light

Mercury is retrograde till the 30th. In this last week before Christmas, as many are shopping for gifts, our minds could shift quickly into overload. When considering gifts we could dither about, concerned with what to buy, having either no clue or too many choices or we could simply collapse into doing nothing. These are common occurrences during seasonal holidays, exacerbated this year by the Mercury retro (the mind wants to sleep) in Capricorn (while trying to be practical, orderly, disciplined). The week begins Thursday with a Taurus moon. Concerning gifts, buy the very best quality, the most beautiful and substantial.
Friday is a good day to shop. Saturday, retrograde Mercury re-enters Sag. There’s rebellion along with a v/c, afternoon through dinner. Shopping’s best morning and through lunch. Along with quality (Taurus) add things adventurous (Sag = travel, artisinal foods, music, culture). The moon shifts to Gemini Saturday evening (through Monday). Gemini = gifts for the hands, mind, better thinking and communicating are best.
Monday night the NGWS stops to rest, gathers for the Sag Full moon (29 degrees), recites the Great Invocation so Light, Love & the Will-to-Good stream to the Earth, preparing everyone for winter solstice (Sun entering Capricorn Tuesday afternoon), and Christmas.
The full moon is also a lunar eclipse. Something in form and matter dissolves. At winter solstice, the Sun rests at the Tropic of Capricorn for three days. The Archangel Gabriel assumes his post of protection over Earth. The Cherubim, angels from the constellation Cancer, guardians of families begin to surround the Earth. We “set our eyes toward Bethlehem”. On the way what gifts for each sign shall we bring?

ARIES: Things hot and red, a bike that goes zoom zoom, everything fiery including candles, fire crackers, incense, things that flicker in the dark. Crayon Crayolas that glow in the dark, silly putty and a new glow in the dark crayon that sparkles with glitter. Hats (to contain their fire). Bike lights or a miners light to set upon their Ajna Center (3rd eye), illuminating their Way. Things white, red, rouge, ruby and for some secret reason, violet. A watch with diamonds.

TAURUS: A gardener to plant all their veggie starts; a yogurt machine with various starters from around the world. Green house, actually several (two, three, four). They know food in the near future will be the only commodity. Gardening tools and wild desert sage (plant). A nature walk identifying wild mushrooms. Tool that exude safety. A barometer & weather thermometer. Any how-to books. A cow (Irish Dexter) for milk.

GEMINI: Things to read and write with, ancient (Basho’s poetry, calligraphy brush) and new (a Mac, iPhone, iPod, Kindle). Things that whirl about, glitter in the sun, resemble butterflies, which resembles their mind, which can’t endure one moment of being still. All types of gadgets, fascinating at first, useless later. A new washing machine (Fisher Pakel) and a clutch of bare root roses: heirlooms, climbers, with fragrance and scent.

CANCER: Cancer’s are water babies, no matter how old they are. Decorative Kleenex containers and a mountain of Kleenex is a priority. They cry a lot. They’re sensitive. Things from the ocean like pearl puddles (jewelry), creams and soaps made from Dead Sea minerals. Containers, baskets, vessels, pots & pans, secret boxes, music boxes. A shower-head creating a rain forest. Tell them they’re your treasure from the sea. A dish of fresh cooked fcrab.

LEO: Wait! Leos want to be the one and only treasure of the zodiac! Leos, sensitive too, are also fire (like Aries) but a different kind of fire. They seem to be from the Sun. Without the Sun Leos are SAAD (the lights they need). Make sure they have adequate light (shining upon them). No gloomy shades, curtains & dark colors for them! Give them things that shine like the Sun. Garden gloves, recycled gold, silver and platinum. Rose gold (yellow gold & copper) is specially beautiful reflecting Leo’s heart.

VIRGO: Virgo loves, on outer levels, to clean, clear, order and organize. Virgo is my Chiron so what would I know Virgo needs? Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day cleaning product. Virgo, always gestating a new state of consciousness, hidden away from everyone except for a few. They love, need want ookshelves, notebooks, pencil cases     & sharpeners, reading lights, a silver pencil, the new “Intuition” vacuum cleaner, a book called “Just Listen” by Mark Goulston. Something precious.

LIBRA: Art, art and more art.. But the kind that, on first glance, is considered beautiful, balanced and harmonious. Flower seeds and bulbs, little fruit trees (apricot, lemon), a kitchen herb garden, scented candles, mirrors (in order to see they are the fairest or most handsome), magazine subscriptions (a gift each month), a box of little chocolates with fleur de sel, a fine local wine, more glass baubles for their already overcrowded Christmas tree. A party.

SCORPIO: Things subtly red, violet, black, aglitter with exotic scents (sandlewood, patchouly, bergamot, myrrh, frankinsence & clove). Incense in these scents and oils also. From Young Living Oils, there’s a blended oil called Thieves, which cleanses and heals and comes in spray (especially good while traveling), liquid soap, lozenges, toothpaste, etc. Leather gloves, books on generals, revolutionaries and warriors. Anything serpentine (from Egypt) or eagle-like, A scarab ring.

SAGITTARIUS: A home town, walking shoes, a staff (several), things that make them laugh (jolly old St. Nick is a Sag), a bow & arrow, an archery set with targets & bundles of straw, a new vehicle that goes fast (putt putt) on little gas, a trip to Rome, a (new) camera, visiting a famous photographer, photographs from famous photographers, artisinal foods from different cultures, mineralized waters, a cashmere beret.

CAPRICORN: New shoes, hiking (mountaineering) boots, mountain climbing equipment, clocks, timepieces, watches (old), a surf board, a desk, gardening tools (the best), goat cheeses, science sets (for both adults & children), magazines (a monthly gift; Architectural Digest, Utne Reader & The Week). A week or more of rest that goes nowhere, especially not up. A beginning silverware set (knive, fork, spoons) in silver, that can be added on to each year. Silver purifies our foods. A compliment.

AQUARIUS: Both a microscope and a telescope, to see the little and big pictures. An asteroid named after them, a heavenly star map covering one entire wall in their home, anything with lights, light beams, luminosity and radiance. A Vespa & a Prius (nothing else will do), a Coyote Trickster feather, a Kachina, pieces of sky that fell to earth. Some Aquarians need a new home & some need to travel. A donation toward either. Music by Brian Eno.

PISCES: Cashmere socks, bedroom slippers, shawls, sweaters, scarves, coats for warmth. Fountains, bells, shower head (like rain), goldfish, jewelry case, new kitchen appliances. A room of their own, organized and beautiful. A home of their own in a citrus field. Being called to the mountain to work. Statues of the sleeping Buddha, of Mary, Christ & St. Francis of Assisi. A cross of gold to wear. Diamond earrings.
