Capitalism – a Love Story

Esoteric Astrology as news for week Oct. 8-14, 2009

By Risa D’Angeles

In the Libra sky each night, as of this writing, Jupiter (Ray 2, Love/Wisdom) and the Moon (veiling Uranus, Ray 7, new world) have been companions. They are the rulers of Aquarius (Age of Knowledge), the planets that are seeding humanity to bring forth the new culture and civilization. Knowledge we must have in our world today. We must have knowledge and intelligence in order to reach the Soul, which is the only vehicle that can observe, understand, and choose to stand against the forces of darkness, obstruction and materialism. Libra tells us we must no longer be blinded to the dangers among us. It is important to know our country has been educationally dumbed-down with 40% of our citizenry functionally illiterate. When we are illiterate we cannot discriminate (Virgo) or make choices (Libra), the task for humanity this month.

Although he often looks hapless and disheveled (he seeks comfort – Taurus Sun), filmmaker Michael Moore is an unrelenting (Sun, Vesta, Venus in Taurus) force (Pluto in Leo in the 1st) to be reckoned with. Casting his wicked humor that sheds light into the darkness, Moore gives us hope as he knocks on doors and enters offices where many “fear to tread.” Moore’s film reveals corporate injustice, cruelty, unfairness, prejudice, inequality, bias, wrongdoing, disparity and ultimately the self-indulgent greed ruling our present centralized world and that has directed us all quietly and subtly into the “Matrix.”

As his films uncover the hidden and controlling realities that have led to humanity no longer owning its food sources, seeds, soil, farms, money, banks, homes,  education or minds, Moore lends each of us the strong arm of knowledge and a dose of reality. Within his truth-telling, we are invited to stand against the forces that quietly and cunningly continue to oppress. Moore’s latest film (his work is a love story), Capitalism – a Love Story” opening in a thousand American theatres this week asks us to “Rise up”, to take back our days and nights, our farms, families, soil, seeds money, banking, local towns and cities and above all our education.

During Libra, each year, we are given a month to make a great life decision – will we return to the darkness of materialism (a developmental stage of blindness) or move toward the Discipleship of Scorpio, where we will withstand tests that strengthen us? In order to make discriminating choices, we must have information leading to knowledge (Ray 3, Libra’s Ray of Divine Intelligence). And so, during Libra, Moore’s film informs, enlightens and illumines our minds (and hearts) assisting us to choose which side we are on. It’s the Arjuna Experience once again with Krishna bidding us to take up arms. Where does each of us stand? Pacifism, in the light of our present world dangers, is not a choice. ARIES: Your present tasks hover around your relationships. With all the work you’re initiating and tending, how are your relationships faring? Are they floundering, progressing, expanding, descending or uplifting? Or are you able to bring balance and equanimity – difficult yet highly soothing for your stress. Investing in goodwill at home and work gestates a new reality in your life. Rest a bit more.

TAURUS: Perhaps you’ve felt that your productive work of change and reconstruction has come up against an obstruction. The next weeks will bring chaos out into the open so you can rebalance and reaffirm that you are indeed moving forward though it may feel at first like a wound. Heed not this downfall of courage. It’s momentary. You will persevere.

GEMINI: A new level of play is introduced allowing for relaxation and creative endeavors. But these you might not pursue, being challenged and caught somewhere in the middle of personal needs and relationships needs. This calls for solitude to contemplate priorities. Remember that in Libra, right judgment and proper use of love are tested. A friend passes on.

CANCER: You want to tend to personal, nurturing things but are called to the workplace where there’s so much work you feel restricted, limited, unable to change agendas. Then you begin to rebel, all relationships fall into a wound and you feel persecuted and like St. Paul, before his initiation, blinded and hurt. Maintain. Do the work. Judge not.

LEO: You’ll finally communicate about something deeply important and it will actually bring balance to a situation seeking harmony. It’s an old situation, limiting you and how you receive and provide nurturing. Caution at work. You may not understand the entire situation. Feelings could get hurt. Wait.

VIRGO: A new level of feeling valuable begins if you use the Will-to-Good, a gift from the Father, for Good-will (mother principle) to all. This may be difficult in terms of understanding self and the world, but do try lest a wound in your creative potential arises. A major transformation is occurring concerning home and foundation. What is it?

LIBRA: The past months have presented challenges, unexpected, extremely difficult, at times scary, and almost impossible to overcome. You are exhausted and weary. The lesson is to stop pleasing others for a while. Boundaries are needed so you can rely on your own judgment and abilities. Take it easy, and find someone to cook for you.

SCORPIO: Should you assume responsibility for assisting others emotionally, intellectually, and/or physically, you will be seen as leader and mentor. At home, things are different and dissolving. Assist this process by draping veils, entertaining a few fish, seeking a new home near water, and knowing that nothing’s real anymore and everything’s in transformation.

SAGITTARIUS: As the past keeps making faces at you, the money situation slides this way and that, communication has disappeared along with a sense of home, what are you to do? Dress well, don’t criticize, review family history, buy new shoes, act like a mother, and contain yourself as best you can. A hobby or a horse would be good, too.

CAPRICORN: New work endeavors compete for your time so exhaustion may result when tending to both family and profession. Be very careful with communication for you could sound like a dragon, feel like a failure, and be seen as someone who can’t nurture anymore. Step back. Stop disciplining everyone. And allow yourself to feel love. This is serious (from Sirius).

AQUARIUS: Your mind’s active with imagination, a good thing, since there’s lots of work to do that may remain hidden. Ideals are good, Goals, too. Begin to have some and use your imagination in that area and not on wishful thinking. Something changes. And for the next several months you may find yourself quite religious, in a state of retreat in order to assess the future. Use resources carefully.

PISCES: A relationship is of some concern to you. Spend time pondering and writing about it, which will ease matters and provide clarity, a new sense of identity and a stronger will. During this Libra time you will need to choose from two very opposite situations. Pray for guidance. Maintain poise and equanimity. Work in the mornings. Cook in the afternoons.
