A special house concert July 20 at the home of Karyn Zaremba, a.k.a. Herbal Simplicity, features a night of fine Americana-ish songs featuring hot playing and singing by Shore and Cockram and The Flyin’ A’s.

Plan on enjoying delicious snacks and lovely libations. Et cetera.

The Flyin’ A’s is a high-powered duo from Austin who play a mix of Americana, country, Southern blues and “Texified” jazz. Hilary and Stuart Adamson met at the Kerrville Folk Festival and “became” the Flyin’ A’s in 2006.

Both are hot singers and guitar players whose well-crafted songs, boosted by Stuart’s guitar licks and Hilary’s through-the-roof vocals, made such a stir that they quit their day jobs to tour full-time. Check out their website for videos and other pertinent info (www.theflyinas.com). Their shows are nothing less than stellar.

Shore and Cockram are versatile multi-instrumentalists, songwriters and singers. They have an appetite for striking and unusual songs, and they’ve built an eclectic repertoire that ranges from high lonesome traditional ballads to swing and contemporary folk songs. Michael’s won first place in the Willamette Valley New Song Contest, and the Ozark Folk Festival in 2011.

Karyn Zaremba’s house is the perfect place to hear music: her house is beautiful and the acoustics in her living room are perfect, so there’s no need for a PA. Come early to ramble through Karyn’s gorgeous gardens and mingle with friends.

Herbal Simplicity is at 317 E. Huntsville Road in Fayetteville — just past Nature’s Water.

Doors open at 6:30, show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $15.

Reservations strongly recommended because seating is limited. Call 479-251-1290 for reservations and more information.
