TKT: Garland Garage Parking

Amber Kruth (TheKruthTalks@gmail.com)

Meter parking in the Garland Garage is changing to 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. After 5 p.m. and all day on Saturday and Sunday, parking in the garage will be free. The intention of this modification is to open up shopping at the brand new University Bookstore center. If you haven’t visited this innovative location, you are missing out on a gem. It’s more than just a new shiny bookstore; it’s a little mall.
There are still several specifics about parking between the lines at Garland Garage as described here by the UA Parking and Transit authorities: “Parking on level 1 is still limited to two hours. Meter payment was formerly required between 7 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. seven days a week. Levels B1 and B2 require a valid University of Arkansas Garland Reserved permit from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Levels 3 and 4 require a University of Arkansas Student Garland permit at all times. Please contact Transit and Parking if you have question concerning parking in the Garland Avenue Garage. Call
479-575-7275 or e-mail parking@uark.edu.”

Fayetteville Trash Collection

This is one of the busiest times of the year … for everyone. And that includes our garbage collectors. Remember to pay it forward to your city workers. Sort and organize your recyclables. Wrapping paper, tissue paper, glitter, foil, tape, etc. are not recyclable (unless you intentionally bought an earth-friendly product). Christmas trees will be picked up curbside the week following Christmas.
In Fayetteville, every year residence receives four free extra bag stickers. You can use 2010 stickers until
Jan. 13. You should’ve received your 2011 stickers in the mail already. If you haven’t, call 575-8398. You can also call them if you need extra stickers. Or you can just pay the $6 extra a bag if your container is full.
