  • Northwest Arkansas Music Awards (NAMA). Sunday, April 22, at George’s Majestic Lounge, Dickson Street, Fayetteville. A Grammy-style event honoring and recognizing Northwest Arkansas musicians. Red carpet and private party for nominees at 6 p.m. Doors open to public at 7 p.m. and $10 at the door. Performances by Afrique Aya, The Brothers Shreve, Nathan A & Max RPM, Oreo Blue, and Shannon Wurst.
  • rockIT Music Week Music Showcases. Performances by Arkansas musicians, including NAMA nominees at select music clubs and venues in Fayetteville April 22-29.
  • rockIT Music Week Conference. Saturday, April 28, 10 a.m. at Legacy Blues on Dickson Street. Music industry insiders, producers, musicians, social networking and publicity professionals come together in a panel format to discuss the road to success for songwriters, bands, solo artists and promoters. Geared for all ages. Cost is $30 and includes lunch. Seating is limited. To register online go to rockitmusicweek.com.

You guys really dropped the ball by leaving out Barrett Baber on the singer/songwriter list. Go see his new cd release show at legacy blues in April. I promise you will add his talents to the list

Thank You for nominating Earl and Them’s “Special Blend” for album of the year. The recording brought together some of the area’s best rythym and blues men; Earl Cate, Jason Davis, Jimmy Thackery, RJ Mischo, Terry Cagle, Mike Murray, and David Renko with over 200 years of combined experience performing the blues locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. We are honored by the nomination and appreciate all the fans who support live music in the Natural State.
