Hail To The … What?!!!

Sophia gets excited about yard sales in Fayetteville apparently. And, if you find this amusing, you should check out my "Golden Girls" fan fiction!
I managed to catch “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” over the weekend. Yeah, I’m a nerd. Deal with it.
Before I got into stifling lumps in my throat and choking back tears as characters got offed — It was allergies. Seriously. I had something in my eye. — I was treated to a commercial that I still can’t make up my mind about.
The audience was treated to scenes of human struggles throughout the ages including one scene of knights jousting. Always in these scenes, there’s an attractive woman looking over the conflict. A narrator says something along the lines of “Men have competed over it, fought for it, died for it …” blah, blah, blah.
Then, it switches to a view of a woman in a store holding a bottle of Summer’s Eve, and the narrator switches to a more jovial tone and says something like “so, come on ladies, show it a little love!” The commercial ends with the tagline “Hail to the V.”
Jaw drop.
I still can’t make up my mind if I should find it funny or be greatly offended on behalf of women everywhere.
For a commercial, however, that is intentionally offensive and yet massively funny, check out the uncensored “Kenny Powers” takeover as CEO of K-Swiss on YouTube with appearances by Rey Mysterio and Michael Bay.

Sophia was one of our yard sale signs last Saturday, along with Julia and Suzanne Sugarbaker and the Huxtables. And yes, that commercial should offend women, men, children and all 90s sitcom characters. That’s where the pejorative ‘douche’ comes from, after all.
