Kudos to Arvest Bank for making efforts to build smarter and more environmentally friendly.

The U.S. Green Building Council presented the Arvest Bank branch on Joyce Boulevard this week with a Gold certification from its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system.

From the Arvest news release:

“According to the USGBC website, there are eleven LEED certified buildings in Northwest Arkansas. The Arvest Bank branch on Joyce Blvd., is the first bank branch in the state of Arkansas to achieve LEED certification, and is only one of three buildings in Northwest Arkansas to achieve the Gold level of certification.

“The LEED rating system was designed by the USGBC to encourage and facilitate the development of more sustainable buildings throughout the United States.”
