School On Saturday

Most schools in this area have five snow days built into their calendar. Most years, that is enough, but with the number of consecutive snow days these last few weeks, students will need to make up those missed days. Fayetteville school district has announced that Saturday, March 5, will be added as a day of attendance. The last day of school will now be Friday, June 10. Students will also attend on March 11, April 1 and April 29, days they were scheduled to have off. The continuous learning schools (Asbell and Happy Hollow) will not have to attend on  March 5 and their last day will be Wednesday, June 15.

Cookie Time
It’s Girl Scout cookie time of year again. Is it just me, or do they start selling cookies at the six weeks past New Year’s resolutions potential breakdown and give-me-a-cookie time? Well, if ever there is a cookie that’s worth it, it’s one of the Girl Scouts! If you missed early sales, keep some extra cash in your pocket when you go to the grocery store where girls will be at storefronts. Or you can purchase online at girlscoutcookies.org.

Four Diamond State

Congratulations to some of Northwest Arkansas’ finest restaurants and hotels: James at the Mill in Johnson, and Pratt Place Inn in Fayetteville. These locations were awarded a “four diamond” rating in AAA tour books. Based on anonymous AAA field inspectors, the top rating is “five diamonds.”
