This town desperately needs another mid size venue or two. I’ve given up going to Georges because the stage is so low nobody past the first rows (where one sometimes gets pushed around) can see much of anything (unless they bribe their way into one of those few tables on the side). Georges was told years ago (when the new managers took over)that the stage is ridiculously low,for big acts, but they would rather squeeze a few extra buck out of those tables. What a shame that the owner of Dave’s on Dickson closed his place and at the same time took over Chester’s and made it a cocktail bar thus killing 2 of the 3 mid size music clubs and giving Georges a monopoly . This lack of any clubs with a decent stage combined with a mean spirited attitude toward many local musicians has made Fayetteville take a big musical step backwards.
